Effects by God
In the Bible God manages to get his message to man in a number of miraculous ways. He comes to Moses as a burning bush. He sends forth angels with burning swords. He covers lands with frogs and locusts. But these days, we’re lucky if we get a really good earthquake every few years.
I asked him what changed.
He said that he learned a long time ago that flashy special effects will only get you so far. Somewhere along the way you need to have a good story, and if the story is compelling enough, you can get away with a lot fewer effects.
